Dear Roller Skating Association International Partner, We are so excited to invite you to participate in this year’s Souper Bowl of Caring campaign! Nationwide, our movement, started almost thirty years ago by youth in Columbia, South Carolina, encourages groups to collect almost $10 million for hunger relief in local communities. It is true: one hundred percent of your collection will go to the charity of YOUR choice. DOWNLOAD SOUPER BOWL OF CARING PLAYBOOK Souper Bowl of Caring utilizes the weeks leading up to Super Bowl weekend – a time where food consumption is high, to help raise donations and awareness for our neighbors in need. Souper Bowl of Caring kicks off on Monday, January 14th and culminates on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3rd, 2019. This past year, over 9000 groups participated to work together to tackle hunger in their local communities. With your help we can encourage more people to participate, donate and volunteer through Souper Bowl of Caring. You will be a key player in making this happen by giving your community an opportunity to donate and/or volunteer at the hunger relief organization that you work with already. We will transform Super Bowl weekend into the nation’s largest youth-led weekend of giving and serving. Participation is simple and is explained easily in four steps outlined in the poster materials that are electronically sent here. Just register at www.souperbowl.org, hold your collection, donate your collection, and report at our website how you did! One can=one pound of food=one dollar towards our overall total for the nation and for the total impact of the Roller Skating Association International. Our goal is to collect well over $10 million for hunger relief this year! There are many resources at our website that you may use at any time including soup pot labels that can be used to encourage monetary donations during the time before the big game, if your collection includes that. Many businesses, for instance, use these labels on soup pots and have volunteers stand in their doorways on Super Bowl Sunday. There is also the option of doing an online collection through our partner, YouGiveGoods. You can create your own Souper Bowl of Caring landing page at https://yougivegoods.com/souperbowlofcaring2019. Our goal is to make it simple to run a great campaign! Souper Bowl of Caring is one small step in the fight against hunger and poverty but can be a teachable moment for young people to learn about the magnitude of hunger and poverty. By holding a Souper Bowl of Caring food drive, your group will experience the joy of serving others while building perspectives and habits that prompt future volunteerism and, even more important: caring about their community.
